Work Is…

Posted by kris on March 4, 2008

… catching up, that’s what.

I missed out February, though I promised a friend to at least write one post per month since I am so lazy. But seriously, February work has gotten me tied down and what with the need to do up a portfolio that’s usable in a certain area, I’ve gotten a little scared and honestly, nervous about the whole thing.

March is looking up for more work and my involvement in this new agency (well, they are not THAT new but they Are new for me) has been fruitful and it’s nice to know that the guests I’ve been with enjoy their time here and with me as their guide. It’s really nice to be able to go to the office to do my paperwork and then have some of my new colleagues coming in and telling me that eventhough I was not around for the guests’ last day, they were still asking for me and sending their best wishes for all that I do in the future. They really make day/month with such great feedback. This really helps me to push for better customer relations and service in my work.

I can’t believe it’s March already! I mean, it felt like it was only a few days ago that I celebrated New Year with a good friend (who actually dragged me out with her even though I didn’t really think of staying – but I’m glad you did!) and now that it’s already the third month, I am reminded of how fast time flies while I am at work.

I just want you to know that I will work my best to make it. I have promised you this and I will keep to that promise. You know the many financial difficulties I have and that is my ONLY concern now. Picking up the camera and doing what I need to do, that’s not going to be a problem, nor would it be for me to adapt to a new environment. I mean, are you kidding me? I love new environments! I live to travel and find out new stuffs – especially food & more exciting pictures!

My schedule is a little lax towards the middle of this month, but I’m expecting it to be packed with work once I clear of the dates with the office staff about my availability to work. Freelancing kicks ass. :) I’m so glad that this will at least give meĀ  the power to actually get my own rest days as and when I like it. But one thing about freelancing is that you have to be really good at what you do. The income is not fixed – It depends heavily on how well you work and how much work you can take on that is worth every single minute of your working energy. I’m not saying I am great at what I do, I’m still improving where I know I lack the qualities to make it better.

There are a few things pending for now which I know I must look into, I promise that I will, but for now, work really comes first. Whatever promises I have made, I will keep. Should I let up, I know I’ll have you friends to count on to knock my senses back into this lazy bean and get back in on a faster pace.

6 more hours to start work. Man, one day’s rest just seem so short. My entire body’s aching but it’s such a relief to be able to sleep 8 hours today. When I work, I can’t seem to sleep past 4 hours… 6 more hours to work… I’ve gotta go prepare my speeches and information. Laters~
