There is a permanent smell of pigeon droppings, bat guano and soaked monkeys about this holy place. No escaping it. And most of all, you’re going to sweat a lot here. Wonder why? You’ll know when you’ll see the stairs.
Since Malaysia’s mountainous regions are mostly made out of limestone, this one is no different. Listed as part of a country tour, the Batu Caves is about 30 minutes drive from Kuala Lumpur. There are buses to take you there as well on very nominal rates. Either way, it’s one of the must-see places when you visit Malaysia, especially if you’re staying in Kuala Lumpur.
